With one glance, the brunette could tell that the girl with oddly-colored hair was not a student at the Peristylium. However, she did not seem to pose a threat, so he decided to extend a friendly greeting. “Hello, miss. Are you lost?”

Being met with a kind introduction, a smile soon blossomed over the summoner’s expression once she had ascertained this boy didn’t seem to be any threat. With steady step, she walked up to him till she stood just a short distance away, draping her arms loosely about her midsection while leaning forward in the slightest. Blue hues alight with curiosity roamed over his person, one hue slightly narrowing at such a pristine uniform adorning him. He must have belonged to some sort of organization, just as knights wore arms that were similar. Standing tall again, she released a steady breath. “Hello there,” She finally greeted in return, meeting his gaze firmly. “Lost is certainly one way to put it,” Elaborating briefly, she bit her lower lip gently. “I don’t suppose you could tell me just what I’ve come across,” She ventured with ease, somewhat flippant to being lost. She wasn’t really concerned with that all in itself, but it was nice to know one’s location.

How easily did his arms move around her and she shifted closer to him, likewise draping her arms around his shoulders in light of a welcoming embrace. He was warm as to where she kept cool, and she cant her head in order to reply to his query. “For tonight, at least — I hope,” She offered to him in a light-hearted tone, knowing she had been gone for so long. Yet, there was always such great relief in seeing the familiar faces of her friends as they welcomed her. With his lost train of thought, she merely took on a puzzled expression while canting her head. “What are you thinking, Cloud?”

He didn’t feel like letting go of the summoner’s form — he had missed her a bit to much. Hearing her explanation, he nodded, letting her know he understood. What else could he really do? She was a busy woman, he knew that. But he enjoyed having her around him, so Cloud had the intention of being a bit selfish. But he kept it concealed; in his eyes at least. “…It’s nothing, Rydia, don’t stress it. I’m just thinking aloud.”

“Whatever you’re thinking, you know you can share it with me. I’ve missed far too much for there to be too many secrets,” She teased lightly while blue hues became hidden behind pallid lids. Her hand sifted through blond strands if only to recognize that she was really here after so long — an affirmation of her presence.

“—…me missing you.”

“— …Cloud,” The summoner greeted gently, turning blue hues towards him alight with an endearment. Releasing a gentle breath, her hands met behind her back. “…it’s good to see you.”

“It’s always a pleasure seeing you, Rydia.” He nodded at her, his mako hues shining brightly. “Better to see you’re okay. I’m happy about that. Is your thigh alright…?” He gestured at her leg, hoping that the bandages were removed and her scars had healed.

Blinking once at his inquiry, her hand drifted to where that wound had been. A small smile touched her lips while fingertips ghosted the old wound which had been mended, canting her head. “Yes, a wound that’s faded. It’s left a pale scar, but I’m not disconcerted,” She offered to him while bringing blue hues back up to those beautiful tainted hues he possessed. The bandages were indeed gone and she was walking just fine about it.

He nodded a bit, his arms snaking around her form after he walked forward. Her skin was cool to the touch, but it always was — Rydia’s body was never hot from temperature. Mako hues locking with her azure ones, he spoke softly. “…How long will you be staying this time…? I…actually….Nevermind..I..should think more..before I say something.”

How easily did his arms move around her and she shifted closer to him, likewise draping her arms around his shoulders in light of a welcoming embrace. Biting her lower lip gently, being enveloped in such an embrace flooded her with a deeply missed warmth. Lifting her arms, the summoner likewise returned that sentiment while pressing the side of her head against the soldier’s. The silence was comfortable, which she welcomed greatly and a genuine smile blossomed on her expression. Quietly, she whispered the words ’ I missed you ’ solely for her to hear while her hold tightened just so. Following suit, long fingers sifted through the woman’s hair in a comforting manner.

A single gloved appendage pressed into the curve of the Summoner’s back, securing the woman in her embrace. Once the other woman had spoken those cryptic words, a brief sigh of relief drew from the pinkette, returning the speech faintly, nestling her head against the Rydia’s. “Are you okay?” Lightning demanded, and though soft in tone, the stern undertone that followed was hard to miss, trailing her head back in the slightest to fix royal hues upon the woman’s mien.

“Yes, I’m fine,” She returned to alleviate whatever fear the soldier might have harbored in light of her prolonged absence. Even her wound from before, it had faded to nothing more than a pale mark left in its wake — but she no longer relied on bandages to keep it concealed. There was a sense of protection that was offered in a mere tone and it had been sensed with ease, the summoner having released a gentle breath likewise laced with relief. “And you? — how have you been? — what have you been up to?”

She made no movement to pull away from that embrace while she had returned with her query, blue eyes alight with a curiosity when met with royal blue.
